Quven is here — a self-hosted media server for your movies, shows and documentaries, built to feel premium on every screen while your library stays on hardware you own.
Editorial update, July 2026: Since this announcement, the native Android and iPhone/iPad clients have moved beyond planning and remain in the v1 launch scope. Their Play closed-test/production-access and App Store distribution gates are still open. Android TV / Fire TV and Apple TV (tvOS) follow in v1.1, and web-powered Smart TV wrappers (Samsung, LG, Hisense) in v1.2. See the updated apps page and roadmap.
What you can do today
Install the server where your media lives, point it at your folders, and stream to the native Windows or macOS desktop app or, with Pro, to the hosted web client in a modern browser. The signed and notarized macOS release ships for Intel and Apple silicon; Linux v1 ships as server-only x64 and ARM64 AppImages, with ARM64 released without a native hardware test and the desktop client planned post-v1. Direct play, hardware decoding, untouched HD audio and styled subtitles are available on the native desktop client.
Free for home use
The complete local experience is free for home use. The only things behind a paywall are the cloud features that genuinely cost money to run — like the zero-config managed relay. Reaching your own server with your own network setup stays free.
