Windows can host both the server and the primary local viewing experience on one machine. Quven ships a coupled Server + Desktop bundle for that shape, plus a Server-only package when the computer should run headless or serve other devices.
Choose the release by the job of the machine
Use the Bundle when the Windows computer is both the home server and a screen you watch on. The server and desktop client share one coupled update lifecycle, so the local primary UI cannot drift away from its host. Use Server-only for an always-on box, a compact home server or a machine administered without the desktop client.
Direct play first, transcoding when necessary
The native desktop player handles a broad set of containers, codecs, lossless audio tracks and subtitle formats. Compatible files follow the DirectFile path without a quality-changing video transcode. When another device needs a different codec, bitrate or HDR conversion, the Windows server can use detected NVIDIA, Intel or CPU capabilities rather than assuming one fixed acceleration path.
Installation expectations
Windows packages are currently unsigned, so SmartScreen can show a reputation warning even when the downloaded file matches the published release. Verify the package against the current public feed and the notice on the download page before proceeding. ARM64 packages are available and statically verified, while real Windows-on-ARM install, playback and update validation remains an open hardware gate.
Best fit. The Bundle is the clearest path for a personal Windows workstation or living-room PC. Server-only is the better fit when every viewing device will connect over the network.
