# Quven > Quven is a free, self-hosted media server for your movies, TV shows and documentaries. Native-first playback, hardware transcoding, HDR tone-mapping and untouched HD audio, all from your own hardware. Quven is closed-source freeware. The server runs on hardware the reader owns, native clients come first, and the hosted web client reaches a linked server through the managed relay.
